The drawings by the Anonymus Mantuanus A and Renaissance architecture north of the Alps

Supported by a Humboldt Research Fellowships for Postdoctoral Researchers, Dr. Francesca Mattei is currently staying at the Census in Berlin (April 2017 to March 2019). Her project is focused on the drawings by the Anonymus Mantuanus A preserved in the collections of the Kupferstichkabinett in Berlin and the Graphische Sammlung of Schloss Wilhelmshöhe in Kassel and their relations to the Gonzaga court at Mantua. Furthermore, the project aims to understand the role the drawings played in the dissemination of Italian Renaissance architectural forms north of the Alps.
