The Census database will be unavailable this Friday, January 13, 2023, for one day due to a system update. All data will be copied that day and migrated into a new database, which will be available starting in February 2023. The old database will be accessible again as usual by Monday, January 16, 2023. However, no new updates will be added to the old version of the database.
From February, both the new and the old database will be accessible online for 2 months, to offer users enough time to adjust to the new interface and to the new methods of searching the Census. After these two months, the old database will be switched off.
The new interface will make working with the database much easier. It will be possible, for example, to search all object types (document, monument, location, person, etc.) at the same time.
Unfortunately, the reader accounts of the old database, including user work folders, will be deleted after the transition phase and will not be automatically migrated to the new database. As soon as the new database goes online, we will ask you to register with a new reader account in the new system. In the new system, you will have the option of creating workfolders in the form of collections.
Further information will be posted here in the coming weeks.
